Collinwood is 0-10 against Loretto since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Last Monday, Collinwood humbled Lewis County with a 71-28 victory. The win was just what Collinwood needed coming off of a 66-30 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Loretto's and Richland's game on Tuesday was close at halftime, but Loretto turned on the heat in the second half with 36 points. Everything went Loretto's way against Richland as Loretto made off with a 66-43 victory. Winning may never get old, but Loretto sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Loretto's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Cozart, who scored 21 points. Cozart continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ally Weathers, who scored 16 points.
Collinwood's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Loretto, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Collinwood and Loretto were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2022, but Collinwood came up empty-handed after a 52-51 loss.
