Andrews had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Springtown Porcupines 9-8. The win was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on nine straight.
Georgia Lambert made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lambert was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Alexys Cornejo was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Kenedi Holly was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Andrews hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Springtown struck out ten times.
Andrews pushed their record up to 31-7 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Springtown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 22-11.
