In what's become a running theme this season, the Rockwell Marshals gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They blew past Merit Preparatory Academy 71-34 on the road. The win was just what Rockwell needed coming off of a 75-55 loss in their prior contest.
Luke Henderson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 13 times he's played. Kaysen Rife was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with three steals.
Cruz Steinman and Allan Mendonca certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Steinman dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Mendonca dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Steinman pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Michigan Draper, who scored five points.
Rockwell is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Merit Preparatory Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.
Rockwell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Merit Preparatory Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Freedom Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Freedom Prep Academy is coming into the game with eight straight losses at home, meaning Merit Preparatory Academy will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
