Poyen lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Hampton, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's   game.  Colt Barrett made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  struck out seven batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. What's more,  he gave up only zero  earned runs, the fewest he's  had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-4. Those  two  runs gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Trenton Russell was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with three  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI. The dominant performance gave  him a new career-high in  runs.  Hunter Woods was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
The  victory made it two in a row for Poyen and  bumps their season record up to 2-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Hampton,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-9.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poyen will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Junction City at 4:30  p.m.  on April 1st. Hampton will also get a bit of a break before their next  contest: they'll face off against Woodlawn at 5:00  p.m.  on March 31st.
