The Montclair Kimberley Academy Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They secured a 78-72 W over American History. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
American History lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ahmad Woodard, who scored 20 points along with seven steals and five assists. Another player making a difference was Ah'Zeah Woodard, who scored 18 points along with five steals.
Montclair Kimberley Academy pushed their record up to 8-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for American History, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montclair Kimberley Academy will square off against Weequahic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. American History on the road again on Tuesday and play against Glen Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
