The Eastmark Firebirds will venture away from home to  face off against the Poston Butte Broncos  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Eastmark has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 133 points over their last three games.
On Friday, Eastmark was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap  as they fell  39-34 to Mesquite. Despite 127 more yards than the Wildcats, the Firebirds couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was  Kyson Lunt, who picked up 162 receiving yards and two  scores.  Zaiden Virani was another key back, rushing for 178 yards while picking up 8.1 yards per carry.

 Meanwhile, Poston Butte was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight  defeat. They were dealt  a  41-0 loss at the hands of Snowflake. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Lobos are ranked 32nd).
 Eastmark's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Poston Butte, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
 Eastmark couldn't quite get it done against Poston Butte when the teams last played  back in October of 2024 as they fell  18-7. Can the Firebirds avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
