The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to face off against the Spring Valley Vikings at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Fort Mill's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
Last Wednesday, Fort Mill faced Blythewood in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Fort Mill came out on top against Blythewood by a score of 58-48.
Fort Mill relied on the efforts of Nas Berry, who scored 22 points, and Kishawn Anderson, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Darryl Carrington, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Spring Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Rock Hill by a score of 49-47. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Spring Valley came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Rock Hill is ranked 127th).
Fort Mill's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Spring Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
Fort Mill came out on top in a nail-biter against Spring Valley in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 57-55. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fort Mill since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
