Rockport-Fulton has gone a perfect 8-0 against Robstown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Pirates will be playing at home against the Cottonpickers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Rockport-Fulton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Ingleside to the tune of 62-21 on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won three matchups in a row.
Rockport-Fulton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reid Snyder, who rushed for 101 yards and one TD on only 11 carries, and also threw for 115 yards and one touchdown on only seven passes. Snyder really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run. Traey Alvarado was another key rusher, gaining 137 total yards and two touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Rockport-Fulton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 443 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 162 rushing yards in 15 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Rockport-Fulton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Evan Richardson and Caleb Wilshire. Another thorn in Ingleside's side was Jaiden Manero, who forced one fumble, made nine total tackles (1.0 for loss), and defended two passes.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Robstown, who bounced back after a loss on the road on October 3rd. They were the clear victors by a 33-7 margin over Ingleside last Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Cottonpickers considering their 12-point performance the contest before.
Rockport-Fulton better keep an eye on Timothy Sanchez. He was instrumental in Robstown's win, picking up 104 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also rushing for 104 yards and one TD on only seven carries.
Rockport-Fulton's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Robstown, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Rockport-Fulton beat Robstown 27-14 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Cottonpickers' Trevin Crowley, who rushed for 85 yards and one touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 106 yards on 12 of 21 attempts. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Pirates still be able to contain Crowley? There's only one way to find out.
