Baseball Recap: Southside Christian Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Southside Christian waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Woodmont Wildcats. Considering the Sabres have won seven matches by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Southside Christian let Reeves Israel and Tyler Bolemon run wild. Israel went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Bolemon went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Bolemon has posted since back in March. Ravi Lord was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Southside Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Southside Christian's record is now 17-1-1. As for Woodmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Southside Christian will be playing at home against Asheville Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.85 runs per game on average), something the Sabres will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Woodmont, they will venture away from home to challenge Mauldin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
