Baseball Recap: GREEN Upstate Takes a Loss

GREEN Upstate had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-5 to make it four. They came up short against the Ware Shoals Hornets, falling 15-4. On the bright side, the four- run effort marked the Owls' highest-scoring contest to date.

As for Ware Shoals, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-5. Considering they have won nine games by more than ten runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Ware Shoals' part, Jayce Medlin was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Medlin has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Ethan Carillo was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Brennan Goode was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple.

GREEN Upstate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ware Shoals, they will host Whitmire at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
