The Black Hills Wolves will head out on the road to challenge the Shelton Highclimbers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Black Hills has five straight victories, Shelton has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Monday, Black Hills strolled past Elma with points to spare, taking the game 56-37.
Black Hills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler Venable, who scored 14 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Harris, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Shelton suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were outmatched by WF West on the road and fell 61-17. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Shelton in their matchups with WF West: they've now lost eight in a row.
Black Hills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Shelton, they bumped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Black Hills against Shelton in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 62-34 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Black Hills since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
