Two dominant  signal callers in  Eli Mascarenas and  Logan Mitchell are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Lake Belton Broncos will face off against the Leander Lions at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.  A big part of Leander's  win came down to the chemistry between  Mitchell and his top target  Zane Wooldridge. Mitchell rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown while  Wooldridge picked up 101 receiving yards. What's more,  Wooldridge also racked up two  rushing yards, the mosthe's  had since back in October of 2023.
 One reason for the win was Leander's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Leading the way was  Garrett Peitz with  four. Leander got some further help from  Chase Milne: he picked up  a  sack and made five total tackles (5.0 for loss).
 The  victory made it two in a row for Lake Belton and  bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for Leander, their win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 4-2.
 Friday's   match might be decided in the on the ground. Lake Belton has been excellent on the ground this season,  having  averaged 190.2  rushing yards per game.
