The Allegany Campers had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat GVCS Broadfording 72-34 on the road. That's another feather in the cap for Allegany, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
When it comes to explaining why GVCS Broadfording lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jordan Shifler. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 blocks. Shifler scored a full 52.9% of GVCS Broadfording's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Allegany's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for GVCS Broadfording, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Allegany will square off against Northern at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for GVCS Broadfording, they will head out on the road to face off against Hedgesville on Friday.
