On Friday, The Cedartown Bulldogs never let their opponents score. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southeast Whitfield County 49-0 on the road. Given Cedartown's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Southeast Whitfield County is ranked 423rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cedartown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Drew Ledbetter, who threw for 154 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Ledbetter is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Demarcus Gardner was in the mix as well, providing Cedartown with two touchdowns.
Cedartown is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Southeast Whitfield County, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Cedartown will look to defend their home field on Friday against Northwest Whitfield at 7:30 p.m. As for Southeast Whitfield County, they will head out on the road to face off against Sonoraville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sonoraville is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
