Make it four blowout wins for the Four Corners Coyotes this season. Everything went their way against Frostproof on Tuesday as Four Corners made off with a 44-20 victory. The win was just what Four Corners needed coming off of a 62-36 defeat in their prior matchup.
Leading Four Corners to victory were Mia Villanueva and Karina Cruz. Villanueva scored ten points along with eight rebounds and six steals, while Cruz scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Villanueva is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielys Pena Ponce, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sanyqua Sloan, who scored ten points. Shalayjah Robey was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Four Corners has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Frostproof, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Four Corners won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mater Brighton Lakes Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th. Mater Brighton Lakes Academy is hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses. As for Frostproof, they will head out on the road to square off against Lake Placid at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lake Placid focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Monday.
