The Highland Fighting Scots will head out on the road to face off against the Liberty-Benton Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 275th, while Liberty-Benton is ranked 129th).
Last Friday, Highland ended up a good deal behind Ontario and lost 34-20.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kolton Stover, who rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 177 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadyn Reichenbach, who picked up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Liberty-Benton had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They put the hurt on McComb with a sharp 44-22 win. The result was nothing new for Liberty-Benton, who have now won seven matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
Highland has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Liberty-Benton, their victory was their eighth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-1.
