After flying high against Callaway last Tuesday, East Coweta came back down to earth. The East Coweta Indians fell to the Starr's Mill Panthers 52-47. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2019.
Starr's Mill found their leader in sophomore Lindsey Kopacek, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 19 rebounds. Kopacek is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Sophia Olson, who posted nine points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

East Coweta moved to 5-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Starr's Mill, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
East Coweta will venture away from home to take on St. Anne-Pacelli at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Anne-Pacelli knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully East Coweta likes a good challenge. As for Starr's Mill, they will welcome McIntosh at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Starr's Mill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season.
