The Western Christian Fighting Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Avalon 48-42. Western Christian has not had much luck with Avalon recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Western Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being CeCe Balderrama, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Madi Bauer, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and five steals.
Western Christian has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. As for Avalon, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Western Christian will take on Newport Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Avalon, they will head out on the road to face off against The Webb Schools at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
