The Galloway Scots will face off against the Walker Wolverines at 8:30 a.m. on Monday. Hopefully Galloway focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
Galloway suffered their biggest loss since November 17, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 66-43 walloping at the hands of St. Francis. While losing is never fun, Galloway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 417th, while St. Francis is ranked 173rd).
Fielden Winn put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 13 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reggie Johnson, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
Walker posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Business Engineering Science Tech with a sharp 73-52 win.
Walker found their leader in underclassman Moustapha Diop, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 17 rebounds. Diop is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Anderson Carey, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Galloway and nudges their season record down to 4-13. As for Walker, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Galloway skirted past Walker 59-57 in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Galloway since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
