After losing to the Morristown Yellow Jackets the last time they met, the Waldron Mohawks decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Waldron came out on top against Morristown by a score of 56-47 on Friday.
Leading Waldron to victory were Audrey Hogg and Grace Fischer. Hogg scored 8 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds, while Fischer dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Fischer has scored at least 25% of Waldron's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson Lindsey, who scored 12 points.
Waldron's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Morristown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waldron will challenge North Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Morristown, they will head out on the road to face off against Southwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwestern is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
