Football Recap: Sanger Starts Season with Win at Home

Sanger gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on the Dinuba Emperors with a sharp 36-13 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-0.

Kendale McGrew had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 106 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 106 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Sanger proved: they limited Dinuba to a paltry 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Leo Quiroz for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sanger didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged seven.

Sanger didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kayden Mcgrew and McGrew.

Despite the loss, Dinuba still got an impressive performance from LORENZO WILLIAMS, who picked up 116 receiving yards and one TD.

Sanger wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 39-35 defeat against Hanford on the 28th. As for Dinuba, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-19 loss against Golden West on the 29th.
