The Los Molinos Bulldogs will challenge the Shasta Wolves at 10:40 a.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Shasta will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Los Molinos extended their winning streak to four on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitchers stepped up to hand Redding Christian a 10-0 shutout.
Addison Jones was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Natalie Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Zoey Zdeb was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Los Molinos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Redding Christian only posted a batting average of .000.
Meanwhile, Shasta made easy work of Enterprise on Tuesday and carried off a 16-5 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.
Anna Pe?a was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Ryleigh Scarborough, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Los Molinos pushed their record up to 17-2-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Shasta, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Los Molinos hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .366. However, it's not like Shasta struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
