Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for West Florence

West Florence entered their tilt with South Florence on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bruins. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Bruins back in March, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Avery Weaver was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-4. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Anderson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

West Florence always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Florence only posted an OBP of .238.

West Florence's record now sits at 15-4. As for South Florence, they moved to 13-6 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Coming up, West Florence will be playing in front of their home fans against East Clarendon at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South Florence, they will head out on the road to take on Hartsville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bruins will need to watch out since the Red Foxes have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
