After only seven points in their last contest, The Eastern Alamance Eagles made sure to put some points up on the board against the Orange Panthers on Friday. Eastern Alamance took down Orange 41-27. Given Eastern Alamance's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 58th, while Orange is ranked 233rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eastern Alamance to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joshua Murray, who rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Tyrek Samuel also helped out as he racked up 108 rushing yards.
Orange's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Hank Nunnery, who threw for 206 yards and three touchdowns. Brandon Cummings was in the mix too, providing Orange with three touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Orange's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Eastern Alamance's QB was sacked four times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Malykahi Justice and his two sacks.
Eastern Alamance's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Orange, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-7.
Eastern Alamance will take on Southern Durham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southern Durham has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 268 points over their last five games. As for Orange, they will head out on the road to face off against Southern Alamance at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southern Alamance will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
