After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Central Fellowship Christian Academy, Gatewood was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Piedmont Academy Cougars as Gatewood made off with a 7-1 win. The victory continues a trend for Gatewood in their matchups with Piedmont Academy: they've now won nine in a row.

Gatewood's offense was hitting Piedmont Academy from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Kathy Mendez led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Gatewood's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Piedmont Academy, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gatewood will face off against Monsignor Donovan Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Piedmont Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on First Presbyterian Day at 5:30 p.m. on April 10.
