The Christ the King Crusaders will square off against the Eastern Randolph Wildcats on Friday. Christ the King is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
Christ the King is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over Draughn.

Patrick Walsh was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Walsh wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Troy Alderfer, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another was James Phillips, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Eastern Randolph faced off against Mountain Heritage on Tuesday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 4-1. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on three straight.
Cade McCallum spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
Christ the King's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Eastern Randolph, their record now sits at 14-12-1.
Eastern Randolph's pitching crew better be locked in on Friday. Christ the King hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. It's a different story for Eastern Randolph, though, as they've been averaging only 0 home runs. Will they be able to keep Christ the King in the park?
Everything went Christ the King's way against Eastern Randolph in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Christ the King made off with an 8-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
