The Mountain View Prep Stars are taking a road trip to challenge the Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Mountain View Prep turned things around against Broome on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Centurions.
Braley Richardson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Richardson was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
In other pitching news, Emma-Kate Thomason tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched.

Back at the plate, Mya Codispoti was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zoe Sullivan, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Legion Collegiate Academy was not the first on the board two weeks ago, but they got there more often. They blew past Mountain Island Charter 17-10. Considering the Lancers have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Mountain View Prep, Legion Collegiate Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Amelia Mason. On the mound, she pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Mason was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on El Desermia, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and three RBI. Zoe Davis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.
Legion Collegiate Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Island Charter only managed nine hits.
Legion Collegiate Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Mountain View Prep, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-8.
