Volleyball Recap: Milford Comes Up Short

After flying high against Whitehorse on Tuesday, Milford came back down to earth. The Tigers fell 3-1 to the Wayne Badgers on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Badgers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in August.

While Milford ultimately came up short, they really made Wayne work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 14-25, 25-15, 25-17.

When it comes to explaining why Milford lost, don't look at Jaidyn McMullin. Despite the final result, she had nine digs and three aces. McMullin is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 18 or more in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alycia Sedillo, who had 14 digs.

Milford's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Wayne, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Milford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Water Canyon on the 24th. As for Wayne, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Panguitch on the 24th.
