The McQueen Lancers had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They pulled ahead with a 33-32 photo finish over Reno. The victory was just what McQueen needed coming off of a 63-37 loss in their prior game.
McQueen's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leah Nisenfeld led the charge by scoring two points along with ten rebounds and eight steals. Nisenfeld has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Caitlin Hilson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
McQueen's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Reno, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McQueen will take on Douglas at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Douglas is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Reno, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Galena at 5:15 p.m. on January 16th.
