Basketball Game Preview: Zephyrhills Christian Academy Warriors vs. Academy at the Lakes Wildcats

The Zephyrhills Christian Academy Warriors will face off against the Academy at the Lakes Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Zephyrhills Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Academy at the Lakes likes a good challenge.

Last Thursday, Zephyrhills Christian Academy took their game with ease, bagging an 82-47 victory over Foundation Christian Academy. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Zephyrhills Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xavier Perez, who posted 12 points in addition to six assists and six steals. That's the most points Perez has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sansao Wika, who went 8 of 12 en route to 16 points.

Meanwhile, Academy at the Lakes can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against Florida College Academy by the margin of a single free throw, 48-47.

Academy at the Lakes' record now sits at 8-15. As for Zephyrhills Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Zephyrhills Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Academy at the Lakes in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 53-43.
