On Friday, Oakwood was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-34 to Trenton. Oakwood has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Oakwood's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dayden Velasquez , who scored 10 points. Velasquez continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Strickland , who scored 10 points.
Oakwood's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Trenton, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.
Oakwood won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against King's Academy at 9:30 a.m. on December 9th. Hopefully King's Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday. As for Trenton, they will face off against Ector at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
