Elizabeth barely beat Union the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Minutemen's pitchers stepped up to hand the Farmers  a   10-0 shutout  on Saturday. The Minutemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six  runs or more this season.
 Albert Maldonado was a  major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple.
 In other batting news, Elizabeth let  EJ Olavarria and  Jaime Tamayo run wild. Olavarria  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  double, while  Tamayo  got on base  in all three of his plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double. That's the most  hits  Olavarria has posted since back in April.  Ian Acevedo was another key player,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 Elizabeth was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .500. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
Elizabeth's victory bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Union,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-15.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Elizabeth will  face off against  rival Johnson  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Union is set to  take on  their familiar foe Brearley  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday.
