Warren County is 9-0-1 against Cumberland County since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Pioneers & Lady Pioneers will square off against the Jets at 6:00 p.m. Warren County will be strutting in after a victory while Cumberland County will be coming in after a defeat.
Warren County came out on top against DeKalb County on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Pioneers & Lady Pioneers were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Tigers. The win continues a trend for the Pioneers & Lady Pioneers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.
Ryder Gilispie was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other pitching news, Lealon Arnold looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Warren County: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 7-14 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Sam Robinson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Tyler Adams, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Cumberland County came up short against Monterey on Monday, falling 13-2. The Jets haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Cumberland County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Titus Ostrander, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Warren County's record is now 9-15. As for Cumberland County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.
Warren County skirted past Cumberland County 6-4 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers & Lady Pioneers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
