The Life Center Academy Warriors pushed their score all the way to 72 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 84-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of Varsity Opponent. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (68), Life Center Academy still had to take the loss.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elijah Brown, who scored 21 points. Brown hasn't dropped below 15 points for 12 straight games. Another player making a difference was Mekhi Robertson, who scored 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Life Center Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 24-10. As for Varsity Opponent, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 364-1300-2.
Life Center Academy will be playing at home against the Blue Pride at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Cristo Rey Philadelphia's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 matchups. Varsity Opponent is on the road again on Saturday and plays the DME Academy at 2:00 p.m. on February 3rd.
