There's no place like home for Yuma Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They never let the Odyssey Institute Minotaur get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory on Tuesday. The Shamrocks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Hiram Silva was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Joey Carey was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Ivan Guzman, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Yuma Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Odyssey Institute struck out 11 times.
