The power rankings have been shaken up after a frantic week teeming with triumph and disappointment. Among the action were the efforts of Boiling Springs's junior Aaron Thomas, an offensive menace who scored five total TDs.

Woodruff not only got the result it was looking for last game, but the team outscored its opponent Emerald in every quarter. Everything went Woodruff's way against Emerald as it secured a 52 - 14 win. The MaxPreps rankings were spot on as they projected Woodruff as the clear winner. The victory also thrust it into the power rankings, where the team now holds the 23rd spot.
Can't Touch This
Dorman's 45 - 31 win over Byrnes last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Thomas Morgan. Morgan rushed for 281 yards and two touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Morgan as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
Movin on Up
Ridge View will have a better view of things this week after its strong showing last week propelled it 15 spots up the power rankings. That was the biggest rise of the week. It took its game against Westwood by a confident 28 - 7 score. Two standouts for Ridge View were senior Javon Anderson and senior Walyn Napper; the former tossed the ball for 199 yards and two TDs while the latter found the end zone on one run and one reception.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Boiling Springs (22nd in the power rankings) and Gaffney (8th). Both teams have their heads held high after dominating their previous opponents. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, we'll see how far they can run the score up this week.
