Village gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They blew past the Sand Creek Scorpions 3-0. The win was nothing new for the Mountaineers as they're now sitting on 13 straight dating back to last season.
One reason for the win was Village's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-14, 25-12.
Norah Hollis paced Village's offense, picking up ten kills. Hollis got some help from Addison Miller and her 31 assists. Miller was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Village will square off against The Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sand Creek, they will face off against James Irwin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
