The Bell Bulldogs were the 37-30 winner over the Saint Francis Catholic Wolves when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Bell took a 30-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of Saint Francis Catholic on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bell has scored all season.
Maddie Smith was Bell's leading scorer, having posted ten points.
Lizzie Bagby held things down on the boards with ten rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Saint Francis Catholic found their leader in underclassman Allie Dey, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 19 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dey has scored at least 25% of Saint Francis Catholic's points.
Bell now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Saint Francis Catholic, their win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bell will square off against Trenton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Trenton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bell in Florida (Trenton is ranked 147th, while Bell is ranked 513th). As for Saint Francis Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Bronson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Bronson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
