Reedy is a perfect 5-0 against Turner since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Reedy will venture away from home to challenge Turner at 6:45 p.m. Reedy will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.
Reedy's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Newman Smith. Considering the Lions have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Addison Daudelin looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Natalie Deen and Mady Kulp did most of the damage at the plate: Deen went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Kulp went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Lily Cetera also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Reedy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .325 or higher in 12 consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Turner lost 9-2 to Lone Star on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Rangers: they've now lost six in a row.
Grecia De La Garza spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and seven unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Turner saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Serrano, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Reedy pushed their record up to 15-9 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Turner, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
Both Reedy and Turner just can't seem to miss. Reedy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Turner struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Reedy took their victory against Turner in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 16-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Reedy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
