San Rafael is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Terra Linda with a sharp 20-2 win on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Cruz Wexler made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aedan Bardoul, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and two doubles while going 4-for-6. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Chick, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.
San Rafael kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Redwood fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Archie Williams on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Peregrine Falcons by a score of 4-3.
Miles Harrison was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Those hits marked the first that he got this season. Another player making a difference was Sam Gersch, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
San Rafael now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Redwood, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.
San Rafael might still be hurting after the 13-1 loss they got from Redwood in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can San Rafael avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
