Andrews scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Academic Magnet Raptors by a score of 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Yellowjackets have suffered since December 4, 2024.

Despite the loss, Andrews still got an impressive performance from Shaniya Coachman, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Those 13 points gave Coachman a new career-high.

Academic Magnet can attribute much of their success to Sophia Benich, who posted 18 points and five steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Benich has scored at least a third of Academic Magnet's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Moody, who put up eight points and eight boards.

Andrews has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season. As for Academic Magnet, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9.

Andrews didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 33-22 loss against Woodland on the 31st. Academic Magnet has also already played their next contest, a 59-39 defeat against Timberland on the 31st.
