The St. Cloud Bulldogs's road trip will continue as they head out to face the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, St. Cloud rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 53-40 victory over the Red Devils. Winning is a bit easier when you make five more threes than your opponent, as St. Cloud did.
St. Cloud had a senior duo take command as Danigzy Mantilla scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists and Emily Lockey dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Lockey has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times she's played. Haley Collins was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, New Smyrna Beach entered their tilt with Lake Howell with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. New Smyrna Beach came out on top against Lake Howell by a score of 45-37 on Friday.
St. Cloud has been performing well recently as they've won 17 of their last 20 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. As for New Smyrna Beach, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.
