The Shelby County Rockets will face off against the South Oldham Dragons at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Shelby County has given up an average of 10.1  runs per game this season, but Friday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Shelby County couldn't beat Model  on Wednesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the seventh inning. The Rockets took  a  14-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots.
 Kaylee Cox put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-4 with one  triple, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.

 In other batting news,  Madison Clark made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-4 with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base. She has been hot, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last six times she's  played.  Abby Blanton was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
Meanwhile, South Oldham earned  an  8-3 victory over Pleasure Ridge Park  on Wednesday. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Dragons.
South Oldham also got a great performance from  Harper Dickerson as she  pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Kylee Black, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and three  RBI. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was  Madelyn Blackby, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  RBI.
 South Oldham's win was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 14-13. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Shelby County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
