Johnston is a perfect 7-0 against Burrillville since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Broncos at 4:30 p.m. Johnston's pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so Burrillville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Monday just wasn't the day for Johnston's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Raphael Academy on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Haley Boudreau spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up 17 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Burrillville). They blew past Central Falls 20-1 on Monday. With that win, the Broncos brought their scoring average up to 7.7 runs per game.
Macey Polacek made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Polacek was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and four RBI.
In other batting news, Samia Shakan and Adrianna Carter did most of the damage at the plate: Shakan got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Carter got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave Carter a new career-high. Olivia Audette was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Burrillville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .771. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Johnston fell to 4-1. As for Burrillville, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Burrillville's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Johnston has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Burrillville, though, as they've been averaging only 2.6 strikeouts. Will Johnston keep running through batters, or will the Broncos buck the trend?
Johnston took their victory against Burrillville when the teams last played last Friday by a conclusive 9-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
