Maxwell Cianfarano made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Brashier Middle College Charter is undefeated when Cianfarano posts two or more runs, but 0-5 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colten West, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffin DeLong, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Brashier Middle College Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Carolina Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 13-1 to Christ Church Episcopal.
Stelios Karambasis was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season.
Brashier Middle College Charter's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-5. As for Carolina Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Everything went Brashier Middle College Charter's way against Carolina Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Brashier Middle College Charter made off with a 15-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brashier Middle College Charter since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
