Holyoke hasn't had much luck against Longmeadow recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Purple Knights will host the Lancers at 12:00 p.m. Holyoke is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Holyoke turned things around against Sabis International on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Purple Knights have posted since April 26, 2024.

Holyoke saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Blaha, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Blaha is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Alanna Bonilla also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Longmeadow made sure to put some runs up on the board against Monson on Wednesday. The Lancers came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 14-11. Considering the Lancers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Isabella Blue made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Blue was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Lexi Winkler was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Sophia Winstel was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Longmeadow is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Holyoke, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4.
Holyoke might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Longmeadow in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Purple Knights have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
