It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the DeLand Bulldogs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 31-13 victory over the Titans. DeLand's victory was all the more impressive since University was averaging only 16.5 points allowed on the season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead DeLand to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyron Moore, who rushed for 178 yards while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 25 yards and a touchdown while completing 85.7% of his passes. Ladamion Bletcher also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
The victory was the fifth in a row for DeLand, bringing their record for this year to 10-2. As for University, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 10-2.
DeLand will head out on the road to face off against Treasure Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Treasure Coast will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. University does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
