Newington hadn't done well against Southington recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Friday. The Nor'easters blew past the Blue Knights 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Nor'easters sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
 While Newington won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the  third set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18,  25-23.
Their offense was headlined by  Seng Singkhamlon and  Nate Parlapiano, who picked up 17 kills apiece. They got some help from  Tristan Gorman and his 37 assists. He was also solid from the service line:  he led the team with two aces.
Newington pushed their record up to 16-4 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  at home. As for Southington, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
 Looking ahead, Newington will host Hall  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Southington, they will take on Conard at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Red Wolves will roll in looking for their  18th straight  victory, something the Blue Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
