They took a 53-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Generals. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Laurel Christian in their matchups with Newton County Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Laurel Christian saw an underclassman step up: Emma Risher scored 11 points. Raygan Gable was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Laurel Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Newton County Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Laurel Christian will head out on the road to face off against Discovery Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Discovery Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Newton County Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Sylva Bay Academy at 6:00 p.m.
