The Burges Mustangs will take on the El Paso Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Burges took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Andress with a sharp 15-7 win. Considering the Mustangs have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Miley Cardenas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Burges kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, El Paso got the win against Jefferson on Tuesday by a conclusive 10-4. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Silver Foxes recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
The team relied heavily on Camila Caldera, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Selene Acosta, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Burges pushed their record up to 12-13 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for El Paso, their win bumped their record up to 8-16.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Burges hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .389. However, it's not like El Paso struggles in that department as they've averaged .314. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
